About Me

Dr. Dan Hagerty, DVM, CVA

image7

I graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in  2013 with a focus on large animal medicine.  After graduation, I completed an intensive, year-long internship at Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center  in Penryn, CA. This provided a solid foundation in critical care, surgery and all aspects of ambulatory equine medicine. In 2019, I became certified to practice acupuncture through International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. This provided a solid foundation in critical care, surgery and all aspects of ambulatory equine medicine. My professional interests include acupuncture and alternative medicine, equine lameness and diagnostics, preventative care for all species, public health and reproductive work. While I enjoy solving problem cases, but would prefer to prevent them before they occur.  Prior to veterinary school, I worked as a  wildlife biologist and private forestry consultant.  In my spare time, I enjoy being with my beautiful wife and goofy wild 4yr old son, playing music, gardening, and spending time at the ranch and in the back country.
